The School of Applied Sciences is hosting its Fifth Annual Career Fair at the Inn at Ole Miss on Feb. 16, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The fair is open to all students, faculty and staff, although it is specifically tailored to students in Applied Sciences. The event will feature over 40 vendors and hopes to bring in over 250 students.
Students that attended last year’s career fair will see some new faces as well as vendors who have been participating since the beginning. The networking potential is high for students unsure about their first job after college.
“The career fair is an awesome way for students to get out and network with actual professionals and potential employers in their field of study,” said Scott Sharp, an attendee of last year’s career fair. “It’s really a great opportunity to get your name out and a foot in the door with a variety of different companies and organizations, as well as find new possibilities that maybe they weren’t considering.”
As an extra incentive, door prizes will be given out to students and vendors throughout the day. This year invitations to were also sent to our alumni to encourage them to exhibit or help us develop linkages with additional vendors and several will be exhibiting with us. This should serve as an added inspiration to our students who someday may be potential vendors for our school in their future professional roles.
